This web site is a homage to Stanton Instruments Limited (SI in short), a now largely
forgotten British company which specialised in the design and manufacture of high-
Though long out of business many artefacts and a certain amount of information remain of this great firm.
The aim of these pages is to make available and preserve what info I have on SI, to encourage people to come forward if they have any more material and to showcase SI products. In this sense it is also a kind of virtual museum of a bygone era of balance making.
I want to showcase SI (and other) balances and weights from my and other people's collections.
So take a tour through the virtual museum and marvel at the beauty and craftsmanship of a bygone era.
