Semi-Micro Balances

Semi-micro balances follow largely the design of their analytical counterparts, but have 10 times the resolution of 0.01 milligram. This was achieved by much finer adjustment of the beam and necessitated the inclusion of the beam within a chamber, formed by fitting glass or metal plates below the arrestment frame. Capacity was usually limited to 50 or 100 grams.

Model SM2 semi-micro balance. Capacity of 100 grams, resolution 0.02 mg by optical projection. Weight loaded (2 decades) to 1 gram, air-damped, additional rider mechanism. Otherwise very similar to the AD2.

Model SM12 semi-micro. In all features identical to the SM2, but in the "modern" grey case.
